Newborn Portraits in Shady Side, Maryland
It was a very merry holiday season for the Dunlap family.
My friends and long-time collaborators welcomed their second son four days after Christmas, about two weeks earlier than expected. I had a chance to meet and photograph sweet little Braden this past weekend at the family home in Shady Side.
Like I did with his big brother, Brandt, we conducted the session in the boys' nursery, which contains a sliding glass door perfect for letting in natural light, as well as a mural of an elaborate under water scene painted by Annapolis-based artist Charles Lawrance.
We had multiple set-ups for Baby Braden's pictures including one involving my neighbor's Tonka truck. Big Brother Brandt became enamored with the toy during a visit to my house last year, so Natalia, the boys' mom, asked me to include it in the session. Unfortunately for us, Brandt was under the weather and didn't join in on the photography fun, but Braden held court beautifully on his own and handled that truck like a boss.
Like Brandt, I have the privilege of documenting Braden's entire first year as part of my Baby Milestones Plan. Next up is his Baptism, followed by his 4-month-old session, 8-month-old session, and one-year-old session. The Plan includes prints and digital files from each session, and concludes with the design and printing of a Lush Fine Art Album.
